WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA INTERNATIONAL REALTY COUNCIL

Background and mission

The Western Pennsylvania International Realty Council was formed in April 2005 by members of the REALTORS® Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh and is Pennsylvania’s first international real estate professional network.

The Western Pennsylvania International Realty Council is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is: “To foster the growth of the international real estate market in Western Pennsylvania by cultivating the opportunity for the community and REALTORS® to embrace the global market through education, networking, resource sharing and partnerships.”


Pittsburgh's international market
  • Pittsburgh has 15 sister cities around the world.
  • We have local communities made up of concentrations of immigrants from seven African countries, five East Asian/Pacific Rim countries, seven Latin American countries, five Middle Eastern countries, two South Asian countries and 21 European countries. These are all recent immigrants and are not anybody’s great, great grandparents.

  • More than 100 internationally owned companies (representing Europe, Japan and the Pacific Rim) have located their U.S. or world headquarters in Pittsburgh.

  • We have formal trade partnerships with five British regions.
