Realtors volunteer at Light of Life

Community Service Committee worked at the donation center

This morning, the Community Service Committee volunteered their time to help organize the donation center at the Light of Life Rescue Mission on the north side of Pittsburgh.  The members were responsible for unloading two truckloads of donated items. They repackaged boxes of non-perishable food items in the food pantry. All in a day's work for our committee.

The Director of Operations at Light of Life, Tom Mitlo, took time to explain the mission of the organization. They accept donations of all kinds, monetary, food, furniture, clothing, and other physical goods. Those donations are then distributed to the needy who come to the shelter for help. Mr. Mitlo mentioned that REALTORS could be a big help when it comes to donations. If you have a client that is moving and not taking their furniture to their new home, or they are cleaning out their closets to move, mention to them that the Light of Life would welcome those items. Every little bit helps.

Thank you to our committee members that helped today, Michelle Senko, Michelle Schocker, Emily Platts, Hollie Hooper, Ed Sickmund, Sean Sickmund, Preston Moore, and John Petrack. It was a great day and we cannot wait to return.

Take a look at the photos from the day.
