Officers Take Oath, REALTOR® and Affiliate of the Year Announced

It was beautiful having the sun shine through the floor to ceiling windows at the Rivers Casino Ballroom this morning.  The day ahead was a celebration of past achievements and things to come for RAMP.

RAMP Executive Vice President John Petrack welcomed over 160 guests to the event and promptly asked Past President Ruthanne Belus to provide the invocation followed by former US Marine and current REALTOR® Sonya Clemente leading the Pledge of Allegiance.

After a delicious breakfast buffet, PA State Senator Randy Vulakovich read a proclamation for incoming President Preston Moore

The Chief of Staff for State Representative Frank Dermody also provided a congratulatory message for constituent Preston Moore upon his installation as RAMP President.

We were honored to have the Chief Executive Officer of the Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS®, David Phillips, attend the event. Dave provided a quick update of what is happening across the Commonwealth and in Harrisburg.  Of course, he pointed out that the 2015 PAR President is Pittsburgh's own Ron Croushore.

RAMP Foundation President Carole Wilczek was next to provide an update about the RAMP Foundation.  The Foundation has provided 10 people with education grants of up to $300 for the 2015 calendar year. More charitable events to follow in the coming months.

Up next are the Awards!

2013 Affiliate of the Year, Maria Pirro of Clearview Federal Credit Union introduced the 2014 Affiliate of the Year:  Phil Scolieri of Scolieri Law Group

The Distinguished Service Award was given to two people who have played a role in the R-E Day the last two years, Bill Russo and Alice Vaday.

Longtime Commercial REALTOR® Ed Goldston accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his tireless efforts to help spread the word to others about the importance in being involved with government affairs issues.  Mr. Goldston made it clear that he is passionate about protecting private property rights and monitoring the issues that affect the real estate industry.

RAMP Foundation Trustee Lisa Freeman received the Community Service Award for her charitable activities in the community as well as her work on the most recent Chili & Wing Cook-Off benefitting the RAMP Foundation.

Incoming Secretary-Treasurer Charlene Haislip was recognized as the 2014 REALTOR Active in Politics.  An award she won as a result of her being politically aware and proactive in standing up for private property rights.
