Allegheny Co Looking for Hearing Officers

Residential and Commercial Hearing Officers Needed

The Allegheny County Board of Property Assessment Appeals and Review is soliciting applications from qualified real estate professionals interested in serving as a BPAAR Hearing Officer during the 2017 property tax appeal year.  The qualifications and terms of the engagement are as follows:

RESIDENTIAL HEARING OFFICER

  • hearing officers must be “state-certified general or state certified residential appraisers or be real estate industry professionals or lawyers with residential valuation expertise.  Administrative Code Section 5-207.07;
  • must be currently licensed as a real estate professional or member of the Pennsylvania Bar;
  • $225.00 per day;
  • flexibility in scheduling;
  • Independent contractor. 

COMMERCIAL HEARING OFFICER

  • hearing officers must be “state-certified general appraisers or have the equivalent professional appraisal expertise.”  Administrative Code Section 5-207.07;
    must be currently licensed;
  • $300.00 per day;
  • flexibility in scheduling;
  • Independent contractor.
